Anthony's Coal Fired Pizza was born from one man's obsession with the perfect pie. Back in 2009, Anthony Moretti—a second-generation Italian-American from South Philadelphia—planted his roots in Wyomissing, PA with a single coal-burning oven and an unyielding vision: authentic pizza, the way his grandmother made it.
Coal firing creates a unique, smoky char that no conventional oven can replicate. The intense 900°F heat seals in moisture while delivering a blistered, crisp crust. Anthony understood this, and he dedicated years mastering the balance of temperature, timing, and the finest ingredients sourced from local farms and artisan producers.
What started as a neighborhood gem quickly earned a devoted following across Berks County and beyond. Word spread — not through ads, but through people sharing slices at kitchen tables and raving about that unmistakable taste of fire-kissed dough.

The First Fire is Lit
Anthony Moretti opens the original location on Paper Mill Rd, Wyomissing with a single coal-burning oven, 6 tables, and a dream to bring authentic Neapolitan-style pizza to Pennsylvania.
Berks County's Best Pizza Award
Just two years in, Anthony's earns the Berks County Dining Excellence Award for Best Pizza — a recognition that puts us on the regional map and fills every seat in the house.
Kitchen Expansion & New Menu
We double the kitchen size and expand our menu with signature pasta dishes, coal-roasted appetizers, and Anthony's legendary garlic knots — now customer favorites to this day.
Catering & Events Launch
